CTSNet hosted two thought -provoking roundtable discussions with several several giants in the field of adult and cardiac heart surgery to discuss similarities and differences to share valuable lessons and points and was great to discuss how the two sides have much in common and what differs. Part 1 features Dr. Elizabeth Stephens, a congenital cardiac surgeon at Mayo Clinic, moderating a discussion on mitral valve surgery with panelists Tirone David of Toronto General Hospital, Toronto, Canada; Emile Bacha of Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NewYork (CHONY)/Columbia University; and Joe Dearani, both congenital and adult cardiac surgeon, past chair of Cardiac Surgery and current director of pediatric and congenital heart surgery at Mayo Clinic; Emri Belli; and Patrick McCarthy of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.
Part II features Dr. Stephens moderating a discussion on tricuspid valve surgery with panelists Patrick McCarthy, adult cardiac surgeon, Executive Director of the Bluhm CV Institute at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago and Joseph Dearani, both congenital and adult cardiac surgeon, past chair of Cardiac Surgery and current director of pediatric and congenital heart surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN.
