Retroverted Left Atrial Appendage: A Previously Undescribed Variant

A left atrial appendage of a retroverted orientation is not a well-recognized anatomical variant in the current literature. The authors describe preoperative identification and intraoperative maneuvers that optimize device sitting and ensure complete occlusion of a retroverted left atrial appendage.
