Redo Commando Operation for Recurrent Endocarditis
This video depicts a redo commando operation on a patient on hemodialysis who had aorto-left atrial fistula and presented with heart failure symptoms. Patient underwent redo sternotomy and bicaval cannulation with exposure of the aortic and mitral valve prostheses. Exposure was achieved through an incision of non and left commissure of the aortic valve combined with right atrial/left atrial incision. The Commando operation was completed using double patch technique. Patient did require post-operative pacemaker placement for 3rd degree AV block.
