Dr Yolanda Colson, Chief, Division of Thoracic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School, was elected Vice President of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery in May of 2020. As a result of this election, Dr Colson is in line to become AATS’s first female president. On July 6, Mara Antonoff of UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, interviewed Dr Colson, a role model for all CT surgeons. Mentoring and moving forward with a positive outlook on the future, advice for younger and mid-career surgeons, balancing families with careers, and being named the third chief of thoracic surgery at MGH are just a few of the topics covered in this fascinating interview.
