Management of subepithelial prepyloric gastric masses often necessitates complex surgeries, including wedge resections or a formal distal gastrectomy. With the high rate of morbidity and mortality, minimally invasive techniques to treat gastric tumors are gaining acceptance.
The authors present a case of a combined endoscopic and laparoscopic transgastric full-thickness resection of a prepyloric subepithelial gastric mass. They attempt to demonstrate the safety of this technique and the possibility of performing a complete and full-thickness resection, while sparing a formal resection of the distal stomach. The video highlights a unique combination of endoscopic and laparoscopic skills.
